The January sales have arrived, bringing significant discounts on Apple AirPods across major UK retailers such as John Lewis, Argos, and Amazon. While Apple does not discount its own products, third-party sellers have reduced prices on popular models including the AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods Pro 3.
Tech critic David Phelan, who has tested nearly all of Apple's earbuds, highlights the AirPods Pro 2 for their impressive sound and improved noise cancellation over the first generation. These earbuds feature touch controls and up to six hours of battery life with noise cancellation enabled. Phelan noted that the noise cancellation effectively reduces continuous sounds like train engine noise, while adaptive transparency allows users to hear surroundings without pausing music.
The newer AirPods Pro 3 offer a notable upgrade in active noise cancellation and battery life, now reaching eight hours with ANC compared to six hours on the Pro 2. Currently, Amazon and other retailers including John Lewis and AO have £20 off the AirPods Pro 3.
For those seeking over-ear headphones, no deals are available on new AirPods Max, but a refurbished pair from Back Market offers a £150 saving. Phelan praised the spatial audio on the AirPods Max, describing the immersive sound as 'absolutely mind-blowing'.
Alongside AirPods, the sales also feature price cuts on Oura rings, Kindles, Ninja air fryers, and more, making it a prime time for tech upgrades.
