Google has issued an important alert for Mac users, confirming that it will end support for Chrome on devices running macOS 12 (Monterey) or older. The deadline for the final supported version, Chrome 150, is set for July 28, 2026, after which Chrome 151 will require macOS 13 Ventura or later.
While Chrome will continue to function on unsupported versions, Google will no longer provide updates or security patches, leaving users vulnerable to cyber attacks, bugs, and glitches. The company strongly encourages users to upgrade to a supported macOS version to ensure continued security and access to new features.
Some older Mac models, such as iMacs from before 2017 and MacBook Airs before 2018, are not compatible with macOS Ventura. Users of these devices may need to purchase new hardware to continue using Chrome safely.
