Final Fantasy 14 will launch on Nintendo Switch 2 on 4 August 2026, director Naoki Yoshida confirmed at Fan Fest Berlin. The game will be available for purchase at $19.99, matching the price on other platforms.
Upon release, players can enjoy a free trial for the first month while Square Enix tests stability. After the trial ends, a separate Nintendo Switch-specific subscription is required to continue playing.
Players with an active subscription on other platforms can receive a 50% discount on the Switch 2 subscription. Notably, a Nintendo Switch Online membership is not required to play Final Fantasy 14 on Switch 2.
Pre-orders are expected to go live shortly, with UK store listings pending. The download size is reported as 117GB, so users may need to free up storage space.
