Celtics are reportedly closing in on a deal for Chelsea left-back Landon Emenalo. The Hoops are looking for a left-back this summer to compete with Kieran Tierney, following the end of Marcelo Saracchi's loan from Boca Juniors.
Options and Move for Emenalo
The Premiership champions are weighing up several options in their search for a left-back, including former title-winner Greg Taylor. However, The Herald reports that Celtic have made a move for the 18-year-old as they look to loan in backup for the Scotland international.
Emenalo, the son of former Chelsea technical director Michael Emenalo, was a regular in pre-season under Xabi Alonso. But he conceded last month that he needs more minutes, telling club media during the summer training camp: "I hope I can make my mark on the first team and leave a good impression. Then, for the season in general, I think I need to be playing in a professional environment because I think I have played enough youth football for a lifetime."
Upcoming Signings and Champions League Deadline
The arrival means the Hoops look set to complete a trio of signings before their Champions League playoff with LASK. Haissem Hassan has checked in a deal that could rise to £10 million from Real Oviedo, while Mika Baur's arrival from Paderborn appears to be imminent.
Celtic must submit their 25-man squad by 10.59pm on Thursday, August 13. However, UEFA rules allow clubs to register up to two additional eligible players by 10.59pm on the day before the first leg.
