Arsenal are preparing for a transformative summer transfer window after clinching their first Premier League title in 22 years. Manager Mikel Arteta, backed by a reported £250m budget, aims to strengthen midfield, left wing, and attack to maintain the club's newfound dominance.
£130m Price Tag for Morgan Rogers
Securing a top-class left winger is Arsenal's priority, with Aston Villa's Morgan Rogers emerging as the primary target. The 23-year-old scored 14 goals across all competitions last season and is currently representing England at the World Cup. According to the Mirror, Arsenal are front-runners ahead of Manchester City and Chelsea, but Villa have set a British record £130m valuation, as reported by the Telegraph.
Arsenal are prepared to pay over £100m to convince Villa to sell. Rogers has been impressed by Arteta's vision, which sees him as a clear upgrade on Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard. However, Villa manager Unai Emery has publicly urged Rogers to stay, stating: "He has improved massively, he is hungry, humble and still has so much room to grow. My message to Morgan is simple: continue here, continue developing and the future will come naturally."
Kenan Yildiz 'Free to Move' After Turkey Exit
Arteta's attacking options could also be boosted by Juventus youngster Kenan Yildiz. The 21-year-old, named Serie A's Best Under-23 Player last season with 10 goals and six assists, is now available for transfer discussions after Turkey's group-stage exit at the World Cup.
Arsenal are reportedly willing to compete with Liverpool and Real Madrid for Yildiz, valued at around €100m (£86m). Juventus are open to selling to ease financial constraints, making the Turkish international a realistic target. Arteta views Yildiz as his top summer target, though no official bid has been made.
First Signing and Budget
Arsenal have already made their first summer signing, converting Piero Hincapie's loan from Bayer Leverkusen into a permanent £34.5m deal. The 24-year-old Ecuadorian defender is expected to be the first of several new arrivals before Arsenal host newly-promoted Coventry City on August 21. Arteta and sporting director Andrea Berta have been given a £250m transfer budget to reshape the squad.
