Arsenal are preparing to intensify their pursuit of Aston Villa winger Morgan Rogers, with manager Mikel Arteta reportedly having a £250m transfer budget to strengthen his squad this summer. The Gunners, who won the Premier League last season, are yet to make any signings but are expected to be active in the coming weeks, according to reports.
Morgan Rogers Transfer Incentive
Arteta is believed to be a huge admirer of the 23-year-old England international, who could provide the left-wing addition the champions are eager to secure. The Mirror reports that Arsenal have additional motivation to finalise the deal early, beyond pre-season preparation and fitness benefits. The Premier League fixtures for the 2026/27 season have been released, revealing that Arsenal will travel to Villa Park on the weekend of 29 August to face Unai Emery's side. After their setback in last season's encounter, Arteta will be keen to have Rogers available for that clash, potentially dealing a significant blow to Villa's hopes of another shock result.
Rogers is expected to command a fee of around £100m this summer, given he still has five years remaining on his contract and is considered one of the most exciting young talents in the division.
Jeremy Monga Chase Intensifies
Arsenal are also preparing an enhanced bid for Leicester City winger Jeremy Monga, according to reports. The 16-year-old is a target for several clubs, including Brentford and Newcastle, but there is confidence that Monga is keen to move to the Emirates Stadium. The north Londoners are poised to make another attempt to sign him after an initial offer was rejected.
Any deal will be put on hold until after July 10, when Monga turns 17 and will sign his first professional contract at Leicester, enabling the Foxes to command a fee. Monga featured 30 times across all competitions for Leicester this season, clocking over 1,000 minutes of first-team action. Following Leicester's relegation to League One, he is expected to seek new opportunities ahead of the upcoming campaign.
Arsenal's Summer Transfer Plans
Arteta is reportedly armed with around £250m to bolster his squad as they aim to retain their Premier League title and progress further in the Champions League. A midfielder, winger, and possibly another forward are high on the priority list. While it is unlikely the champions will acquire another eight players this summer, potential agreements could be confirmed after the World Cup.
