Apple Issues Urgent Update for iPhone 17 and Air to Fix Charging Bug

Apple has released a critical software update for the iPhone 17 series and the iPhone Air, addressing a bug that prevents wired charging when the battery is nearly drained. The update, iOS 26.5.1, is now available for download.

According to Apple, the issue affects a small number of users. The company stated: 'This update addresses an issue for a small number of users that may prevent wired charging on iPhone Air and iPhone 17 models when the battery is nearly drained.'

To install the update, users should go to Settings, tap General, and then Software Update. The update file is 13.6GB, so a Wi-Fi connection or unlimited mobile data is recommended. Users can either update immediately or schedule it overnight.
