The Activision Super Pocket handheld has been officially announced by Blaze, the company behind Evercade, just days after the release of the Rare Super Pocket. The HyperMegaTech! Super Pocket Activision Edition boasts one of the most striking designs yet, featuring a black background with the colors of the old Activision logo across the front, complemented by white buttons on the front and back. Some reviewers have noted that it may even surpass the orange and blue Data East model in aesthetic appeal.
34 Classic Games Included
The device comes pre-loaded with 34 retro gaming classics, including Pitfall and its sequel Pitfall II: Lost Caverns, River Raid, Kaboom!, and Keystone Kapers. Other titles include H.E.R.O., Moonsweeper, Seaquest, Enduro, and Plaque Attack. The full games list comprises: Barnstorming, Beamrider, Boxing, Checkers, Chopper Command, Cosmic Commuter, Demon Attack, Dolphin, Dragonfire, Enduro, Grand Prix, H.E.R.O., Kabobber, Kaboom!, Keystone Kapers, Laser Blast, MegaMania, Moonsweeper, Oink!, Pitfall!, Pitfall II: Lost Caverns, Plaque Attack, Pressure Cooker, Private Eye, River Raid, River Raid II, Robot Tank, Seaquest, Skiing, Sky Jinks, Spider Fighter, Stampede, Starmaster, and Thwocker.
Compatibility and Accessories
Part of the Super Pocket's appeal is its compatibility with all Evercade cartridges, opening up hundreds of additional retro games. The Activision Super Pocket has a release date of September 28 and is available for pre-order at £59.99. A version with a carry case is also available for £64.95.
