Wetherspoon has announced that it will ban background music and phone calls made on speaker in all of its pubs across the UK, a decision that has been welcomed by customers, according to a new survey.
Survey Shows Customer Support
The survey, conducted by the company, found that 78% of customers supported the ban on background music, while 88% backed the restriction on phone calls made on speaker. The changes are set to take effect from September.
Company Statement
A spokesperson for Wetherspoon said: "We believe that our pubs should be places where customers can enjoy a conversation without distractions. The feedback from our customers has been overwhelmingly positive."
The ban will apply to all 800 Wetherspoon pubs in the UK, and will include the removal of music playlists and the enforcement of a policy against speakerphone use.
