Christmas candle collections are already landing, from luxury fragrance favourites like Neom Wellbeing to high-street stalwarts like Lush. With traditional festive notes including cinnamon, peppermint, clove and orange, these scents can make homes smell like Santa's grotto.
After five years as a shopping writer, I've narrowed down the hundreds of candles I've tried to the three I'm adding to my wishlist this year.
Neom Wellbeing Christmas Wish Scented Candle
Neom Wellbeing's bestselling Christmas Wish Scented Candle returns every year. It's an unmistakable blend of rich tonka bean and candied mandarin, with a sweet yet warming scent. At £48, it's expensive, but the scent throw fills a medium-size room well, and the candles are hand-poured and made from essential oils.
This season's offering features a rippled, raspberry-red glass jar that'll complement Christmas decor seamlessly. Alongside Christmas Wish, fans can also look forward to the return of Perfect Peace, Sparkling Joy and Cosy Nights, all housed in matching textured glassware.
Notes: Candied mandarin, snapped cinnamon sticks, rich tonka bean
Burn time: Up to 35 hours
The White Company Mistletoe Luxury Signature Candle
The White Company's latest festive candle, Mistletoe, is a warming blend of vetiver, bergamot, and cedar. The scent throw was so impressive that I could smell the warm notes before I even unboxed it. Once lit, the scent easily filled my medium-sized bedroom and drifted right out into the hallway.
Housed in a sleek, minimalist glass votive, it looks every bit as expensive and chic as you'd expect from the brand's signature aesthetic.
Notes: Vetivert, bergamot, cedar
Burn time: Up to 28 hours
Lush Candy Cane Candle
Lush's Candy Cane is inspired by the classic Christmas sweet, with a blend of peppermint, lemon and bergamot. Once lit, that sugary, minty sweetness fills the room and instantly puts me in the mood for Christmas treats. It's fresh and uplifting rather than heavy, making it a good pick for anyone who prefers sweeter festive fragrances.
Lush candles don't have the strongest scent throw, but Candy Cane performs better than some of the others I've tried. At its price point, it's a fun festive buy that delivers plenty of Christmas spirit.
Notes: Peppermint, lemon, bergamot
Burn time: Up to 35 hours
