Mr Kipling has released new sponge puddings in the lead-up to Christmas, and Tesco shoppers are already declaring their diets ruined after spotting the tempting addition.
The new cinnamon bun sponge puddings have been spotted on Tesco shelves, alongside a raspberry and Madagascan vanilla flavour. Both are part of Mr Kipling's Signature Collection and come in twin packs priced at £3.
Shoppers react to the new treat
Reacting to the find on Facebook's NewFoodsUK page, one user said: "Omg, there goes the diet." Tagging a friend, another wrote: "If you find these, I need 98."
A third person said: "Mmmm I need to try these!" Another shopper added: "I'll have this as my Christmas pudding."
Product description and heating instructions
The product description reads: "These heavenly Mr Kipling sponge puddings are the perfect desserts. Each pack contains two fluffy sponge puddings, smothered in a delicious sauce."
Heating instructions advise: "To heat each pudding individually, remove the seal and place your tasty sticky toffee pudding upside down on a small microwavable plate. Heat on full power for 30 seconds - keeping an eye on your pud at all times - then gently remove from the container to allow the velvety sauce to completely coat the sponge."
The instructions continue: "Be careful, as the pot and its contents will be very hot! Count down one minute before enjoying your yummy, warming pudding...Mmm. Why not have as a dessert after your main meal - delicious with custard or on it's own - grab a spoon and dig in!"
Other treats in the Signature Collection
The new sponge puddings are not the only indulgent option in Mr Kipling's Signature Collection. Shoppers can also purchase mince pie cakes, brownie cake mix, brownie bites, as well as cake mix and cake icing.
Mr Kipling employs a traffic light labelling system to help customers monitor their nutritional intake. A statement on the brand's website reads: "Finding out exactly what's in each and every one of Mr Kipling's treats is a piece of cake. We've signed up to the UK Government Voluntary Traffic Light Front of Pack Labelling Scheme to help you make more informed choices."
The statement adds: "That means every pack has a label which allows you to check, compare and choose the right snack or treat for your family. Overall, the things you want to watch out for when you're choosing a snack are: Energy (measured in kcal), Fat (measured in grams), Saturated fat (measured in grams), Sugar (measured in grams) and Salt (measured in grams). All Delicious and Light products are amber or green on the traffic light system."
