Tesco Extends Click+Collect Booking to 8 Weeks for Summer

Tesco has announced a major change to its Click+Collect service for the summer months, allowing customers to book slots up to eight weeks in advance, double the usual four-week window. The move aims to help families plan ahead during the busy holiday period, which includes BBQs, picnics, and staycations across the UK.

Extended Booking Period

Starting from July 14, priority customers can begin booking their slots, while general booking opens on July 21. The extended booking period will remain in place throughout the summer, giving shoppers more flexibility to secure a convenient time for their grocery collections.

Increased Availability in Holiday Hotspots

Rob Graham, Tesco online director, said: “Summer can be one of the busiest times of the year. We want to make it easier for customers to get organised and plan ahead. That’s why we’re opening up eight weeks of Home Delivery and Click+Collect slots over the summer, giving customers more flexibility to book a time that works best for them to get what they need.” He added that Tesco is also offering same-day delivery in more stores than last summer and has increased Click+Collect availability in holiday hotspots.

Service Details and Popularity

The Click+Collect service allows customers to order groceries online and pick them up at a convenient location. Slots cost up to £2, with a minimum order value of £25. Tesco notes that collection slots are generally easier to find than delivery slots. There are over 500 Click+Collect locations across the country, and the service is particularly busy around major holidays like Christmas.

Customers can book slots via the Tesco smartphone app or website. The extended booking period is expected to help alleviate stress for families preparing for summer activities, especially given the record-breaking heatwaves the UK has experienced this year.
