Supermarkets Elevate Easter With Premium Pistachio Eggs

Pistachio has become a dominant flavour in Easter confectionery for 2026, with supermarkets offering a range of premium eggs inspired by the viral Dubai chocolate bar trend. According to IndyBest writer Alice Reynolds, who tested over 30 eggs this year, the pistachio craze shows no signs of fading, with several supermarket options standing out for their quality and presentation.

Marks & Spencer leads the selection with its extra thick pistachio Easter egg, described by Reynolds as a 'showstopper' that 'sets a new standard'. The egg features high-quality milk chocolate balanced with sweet pistachio, adorned with whole and chopped roasted nuts, and presented in a hat-box-style container with navy and lime green ribbon.

Other notable M&S offerings include a white chocolate and pistachio egg with Himalayan salt, which avoids being overly sweet thanks to a generous salt addition, and a loaded half egg pairing pistachio with soft caramel and caramel pieces. Reynolds noted that while the latter's pistachio flavour could be stronger, its texture and creativity are commendable.

The trend traces back to the 2022 Dubai chocolate bar from FIX Chocolatier, which combined pistachio cream and knafeh pastry, sparking a wave of imitators. Since then, pistachio has appeared in chocolate bars, truffles, and protein snacks, now firmly established in Easter eggs. Reynolds advises shoppers seeking value and quality to consider these supermarket options for gifts or personal indulgence.
