The Steamhouse, an independent coffee and bagel shop with a strong following in the Midlands, will open its first Cardiff cafe this month. The new store is set to welcome customers on Wednesday, August 12, marking the brand's first step beyond its home region.
Location and Opening Details
The cafe will be situated at the corner of High Street Arcade, next to Burger King, taking over the former Doughnutters shop. To celebrate the opening, the first 50 customers will receive free bagels, and there will be 50% off the entire menu all day.
The Steamhouse is known for its freshly baked bagels, doughnuts, and more. The menu includes brunch classics such as buttermilk pancakes and Toulouse sausage, as well as cinnamon rolls in flavors like mocha and lemon meringue. Bagel fillings feature standout options like the Nashville Ranger, which includes fried chicken in smoky bourbon BBQ sauce, and The Monty, with sausage, scrambled egg, and chipotle sauce.
Signature Coffee and Fresh Baking
Coffee is central to The Steamhouse experience, with its signature blend developed in partnership with Beanworks Coffee Roastery. All bagels, doughnuts, and tray bakes are freshly baked each day at the company's headquarters and bakery in Redditch before being delivered to Cardiff.

Cardiff's Growing Food Scene
The Steamhouse joins a wave of recent openings in Cardiff, including noodle bar Tonkotsu, cocktail bar and restaurant Roos, and Pig & Swill tap room. Later this autumn, Solina Pasta is also set to open at the former Zero Degrees site on Westgate Street. The Steamhouse Cardiff will be located at 33 High Street, Cardiff CF10 1BB.
