The brothers behind the viral jacket potato brand SpudBros have announced they are opening a second Liverpool store. Jacob and Harley Nelson, who gained international fame through social media, revealed the news to their followers, describing the new location as a “sick idea”.
Second Liverpool Store Details
The new SpudBros Express will be located at the Beacon 62 Service Station, an EG On The Move forecourt at Coppice Lane, Tarbock, Prescot, Liverpool (L35 1QT). The store is set to open on Thursday, and the team will be giving away 100 free jacket potatoes to celebrate.
Success of First Liverpool Store
The brothers opened their first Liverpool store in Queen Square in September, in the unit previously occupied by Costa Coffee. The opening saw huge queues, with Bradley Klimly from Wirral being the first in the 300-person-strong queue after staying overnight. The store offered jacket potatoes for 1p to the first 100 customers, accompanied by a live DJ set and social media content moments.
Speaking about the first opening, Jacob, co-founder of SpudBros, said: "Liverpool has always been one of the UK’s most exciting food cities, so it feels like the perfect place for our first SpudBros Express outside of London. We’ve been blown away by the support from our fans up here, and we can’t wait to see queues around Queen Square just like we had in Preston and Soho."
Viral Fame and Expansion
The Preston-born brothers have amassed more than five million followers across social media platforms with their POV-style videos of preparing jacket potatoes with toppings like baked beans, cheese, chilli, and tuna, accompanied by "northern banter". Their content has led to collaborations with top influencers including Sidemen, MrBeast, Alex Warren, and actor Will Smith. The brothers previously operated a mobile shop known as their "tram".
Jacob added: "What started as a humble family tram in Preston has turned into a movement, and opening in Liverpool today is another huge step in that journey."
