GMB's Richard Arnold backs Sir Tom Jones after flu postponements

The 86-year-old Welsh singer is currently completing the US leg of his Come Gather Round world tour. On Monday (October 26), Sir Tom took to Instagram to announce the decision to push back his show in Los Angeles that evening, as well as Tuesday's (October 27) concert in San Diego.

Doctor's Advice Forces Rescheduling

Sir Tom offered his apologies to US audiences after he was advised against performing by his doctor. His statement read: "I've had a great time these last few weeks, completing 20 shows and singing for wonderful audiences across the USA, but unexpectedly I've been hit with a bad case of the flu. Following doctor's advice, I unfortunately have to reschedule tonight's show in Los Angeles and tomorrow's show in San Diego."

He added: "I've had news that these shows will now be re-scheduled as follows - The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park, San Diego on Tuesday November 3rd and The Greek Theatre, Los Angeles on Wednesday November 4th. I'm truly sorry for any inconvenience caused. I look forward to seeing you all soon."

Support from Good Morning Britain

The Good Morning Britain team shared their well-wishes for Sir Tom Jones during Tuesday's programme. Richard Arnold said: "News on Sir Tom Jones now. He's had to reschedule dates on the US leg of his current tour due to a bad case of the flu."

He continued: "He posted to social media that doctors have told him to reschedule his shows in Los Angeles and San Diego this week. [He also] shared new dates at the start of November." Richard then added, "Get well soon, Tom."

Richard Madeley remarked: "He started in the days of black and white TV," to which Richard Arnold responded: "He's still feeling the heat of the lights at 86!" Ranvir concluded: "And his voice is still just sensational."
