Selfridges and Dazed launch Oxford Street creative open call

Selfridges has partnered with British fashion and culture magazine Dazed to launch a Creative Open Call, offering six emerging creatives the chance to design the windows of its flagship Oxford Street store. Applications opened on October 16 and will close at midnight on October 23.

Who Can Apply

Aspiring fashion designers, photographers, set designers, stylists, makeup artists and graphic designers are invited to showcase their skills to thousands of passers-by on one of London's busiest shopping streets. Applicants must submit a link to their work, along with a statement explaining what inspires them, what the opportunity would mean to them and how they envision bringing their ideas to life.

Prizes and Judging

Shortlisted creatives will receive £1,000 to develop and pitch their proposals to a panel of industry experts and representatives from Selfridges and Dazed. The six winning creatives will each be awarded a £3,000 fee, plus a separate production budget to turn their visions into eye-catching window displays.

Industry Leaders Weigh In

Selfridges Creative Director Will Wyness said: “Selfridges’ Oxford Street windows are among the most famous visual spaces on Earth. A show across these windows will arguably be seen by more people than an exhibition at every major gallery in London combined.”

Dazed Editor-in-Chief Ted Stansfield said: “This open call is a chance to discover some of the most exciting talent out there, giving selected artists a platform to reach new audiences and take their careers to the next level.”

The full submission process and terms and conditions are available to view on the Selfridges website.
