Santander is offering customers £225 free cash if they switch to a Santander Edge account before Friday. The deal consists of a £180 cash bonus and a £45 Amazon voucher.
MoneySavingExpert.com described the offer as a “strong pick if you want upfront cash and ongoing bills cashback – especially for households.”
What the Santander Edge account offers
For a monthly fee of £3, the account provides 1% cashback on up to £10 a month on council tax, energy, water, mobile, broadband, and TV bills paid by direct debit. It also includes a linked saver paying 6% variable for a year on up to £4,000, and an 8% variable regular saver allowing up to £200 a month for a year. Additionally, it is the top debit card for spending abroad with near-perfect exchange rates.
How to qualify for the bonus
To receive the £180 bonus, customers must open an account by 2pm on July 31, switch in another account, pay in £1,500, set up two active direct debits, and pay the £180 within 90 days. For the £45 Amazon voucher, customers must also open the 8% regular saver and deposit £200 within 30 days. The voucher will be available after September 30 and must be claimed within 30 days.
Those ineligible include anyone who signs up after July 31, has previously received a Santander switching bonus, or has had a Santander account before 2025 or in the last 12 months.
Other eligible accounts
Other Santander accounts also qualify for the £180 bonus: the free Everyday account, the £5-a-month Edge Up, and the £17-a-month Edge Explorer. Edge Up offers up to £15 a month cashback, requiring a £1,500 monthly pay-in. Edge Explorer includes travel, breakdown, and mobile cover. The Everyday and Edge Up accounts qualify for the Amazon voucher, while Edge Explorer offers a £150 hotel voucher instead.
