Molyneux, who considers herself a skilled steak cook, notes that while M&S and Waitrose steaks cook perfectly, Sainsbury's versions turn out chewy and unappealing. She spent £7.50 per steak on several occasions, only to be met with poor results. The breaking point came when a steak emerged from the pan thin, curled, and barely edible, leading her to discard it uneaten.
Comparison with Competitors
She highlights that M&S steak costs approximately £1 more but offers significantly better quality. Molyneux states, 'I'm perfectly content to make the additional effort for a steak I can depend on.' She plans to walk to her local M&S for steak purchases from now on.
