Primark lip liner compared to £22 Huda Beauty version

Makeup artist and hair stylist Beth Milligan has praised Primark's £2.50 lip liner, saying it feels "so similar" to the £22 Huda Beauty version. She shared her verdict in a video, applying the product and demonstrating its staying power.

Budget alternative to high-end liner

Beth said there is "one thing" she is never without — a lip liner — because it lets her do a liner and gloss combo that makes her "feel put together". She noted that a high-end liner and gloss combination could cost around £50 for one colour, and regularly switching between shades like dark brown, nude and pink could soon add up to almost £200.

To offer a cheaper option, Beth showcased the Primark Ultra Fix Lip Stain Liner, which she bought in the shades Mocha and Latte. She described the Mocha shade as "stunning", though she found Latte a little "too pinky" for her taste, as she prefers a nude colour.

Product details and verdict

The Primark website describes the liner as "designed to deliver a long-lasting stain formula that keeps your lips defined and looking fresh all day long". It adds that the "precise felt-tip applicator makes it super easy to line and fill your lips with a rich colour payoff".

Beth said the liner is "like a felt tip pen" with a "really nice" finish. She rubbed her finger on her lips and showed the camera that nothing rubbed off. She recommended swatching the shades "if you can" before buying, but added that for £2.50, "you cannot go wrong".

At the end of her video, Beth wrote: "I had this on for six hours and it faded, but didn't come off!!" In the comments, one person mentioned liking the original liners in the range, which cost 75p, but Beth replied: "These are better, trust me!"
