Pizza Pilgrims, the pizza chain with 26 branches across the UK, is opening its latest restaurant in Wimbledon on Tuesday, August 18. The new venue will feature 104 seats inside spread over two floors, with an additional 18 seats outside.
Expanding UK Presence
The chain, which has been operating for around a decade, already has several restaurants in London, as well as locations in Birmingham, Bristol, Brighton and Cardiff. The new Wimbledon opening aims to become a hub for the local community as well as a pizza restaurant.
Pizza Pilgrims is known for its Neapolitan-style pizza and started serving at Berwick Street Market in 2012 before opening its first permanent restaurant in Soho the following year. The brand was founded by brothers James and Thom Elliot, who went on a pilgrimage to Italy in 2011 to learn about authentic pizza-making.
Design and Jobs
The ground floor features an open kitchen, as at other locations, while the interior is designed to resemble Naples. The new restaurant is set to create 25 new front- and back-of-house roles.
Favourites on the menu include the Margherita, Salsiccia e Friarielli, and sweet-and-salty Double Pepperoni with Spicy Honey.
Opening Celebrations and Soft Launch
To celebrate the opening, Pizza Pilgrims will host a family pizza feast on Saturday, August 15, from 12pm to 2pm. On the day, adults will receive a free drink with any kids' meal, while kids can take part in pizza-making workshops and face painting.
Locals can book now to be among the first to try the new pizzeria during its soft launch from August 10 to 14, with 50% off the bill when booking through the Pizza Pilgrims website.

The expansion comes as many chains face financial trouble, with brands like Pizza Hut significantly reducing the number of restaurants they operate in the UK.
