Petit Café closes Lark Lane branch, Berry Street stays open
Petit Café closes Lark Lane branch, Berry Street remains

Petit Café has closed its branch on Lark Lane, one of Liverpool's most well-known streets, after two years of trading. The bar's original site on Berry Street in the city centre remains open.

The Lark Lane venue opened in April 2024, offering wines, cheeses, cocktails and other items with a Parisian theme. It followed the launch of Petit Café Du Coin on Berry Street in 2017, which had established itself as a popular city bar.

Announcement of closure

In an Instagram post shared on November 1, Petit Café confirmed that its time on Lark Lane had ended. The post, accompanied by a black and white photo of the bar's exterior, stated: "Lark Lane, it's time to say goodbye. Sometimes things just don't work out quite as you'd hoped."

The message continued: "We've loved being part of Lark Lane, but ultimately Petit Café wasn't quite the right fit, and our little chapter in South Liverpool has come to an end after this evening's service."

Berry Street remains open

The post also confirmed that the Berry Street location is unaffected, noting: "Berry Street remains very much open, our team have all been offered roles across the wider DGB family, and a new tenant is already lined up."

The statement ended with thanks to supporters: "To everyone who supported us along the way, thank you. No tears, just lovely memories and lots of love for Lark Lane. Au revoir, and thank you. x"
