Dinnerstone, a beloved Anglo-Italian restaurant in Uppermill, Oldham, is set to reopen months after closing, with new owners led by former Hollyoaks actor Rob Norbury.
New ownership announced
Charles Brierley, who founded Dinnerstone in 2006 and also runs the White Hart Inn at Lydgate, announced the closure in January after nearly 20 years. This week, he revealed on social media that Muse Group, which includes Muse on Uppermill's High Street and the Farrars Arms pub on Oldham Road in Grasscroft, has acquired the site.
In a social media post, Charles said: "I'd like to congratulate Muse Group, led by Rob Norbury, on the acquisition of Dinnerstone Restaurant and Bar, Uppermill. It was a pleasure to guide Dinnerstone for 20 years."
Plans for reopening
Charles expressed his anticipation for the changes Muse Group will make, adding, "I'm pleased, and am looking forward to whatever changes they make and it's hopefully soon reopening. And more importantly frequenting as a customer. Well done Muse Group."
Dinnerstone, named after a local landmark in Millstone Edge, Standedge, had maintained a top position on TripAdvisor as one of Oldham's best-loved restaurants.
Rob Norbury's background
Rob Norbury, known for playing Riley Costello in Hollyoaks from 2010 to 2012, previously spoke to the M.E.N in 2017 about purchasing the Farrars Arms, saying, "It's long been known as a bit of an establishment in the area, and I used to go to The Farrars myself years ago." He added, "When the previous owners decided they'd had enough nobody seemed to want to take it on. That's when I decided to give it a go."
