November 2026 UK shop closures: B&M, Co-op, Halifax list

Several major UK retailers and banks, including B&M, Co-op, TK Maxx, Halifax and Lloyds Bank, are preparing to close branches in November 2026. Some stores will close permanently, while others are relocating or being taken over by new operators.

B&M and Co-op closures

B&M is permanently closing its store on County Road in Walton, Liverpool, on Friday, November 6. The discount chain has confirmed the date on its website and directed customers towards its other nearby stores, including Great Homer Street and Utting Avenue. Staff affected by the closure are being offered employment at other B&M branches in the area.

Co-op's Peverell Park Road store in Plymouth is due to close on November 28. However, the premises has been sold to another convenience retailer, meaning shoppers are not expected to lose access to a local food shop altogether. The change comes as Co-op makes adjustments to parts of its store network.

TK Maxx relocation and bank branch changes

TK Maxx is closing its store at the Montague Centre in Worthing, West Sussex, on November 8 after around 25 years. But the retailer is not leaving the town. A replacement store is scheduled to open in the former Poundland unit on Montague Street on November 12, just four days later.

Halifax has several branch closures scheduled for November, including locations in London, Wales and northern England. The announced dates are: November 2 in Dalston, Redcar and Sheffield; November 3 in Llanelli; November 4 in Ilford, Leigh and Huyton, Liverpool; and November 9 in Clacton-on-Sea. The closures come as Lloyds Banking Group makes changes to its branch network. Separately, the group has announced plans to rebrand Halifax branches as Lloyds, although this does not mean every Halifax branch is closing.

Lloyds Bank closures and customer advice

Lloyds Bank is also shutting branches during November. Among the locations affected are Accrington and Wallsend on November 3, Ilkeston and Willenhall on November 5, and Wakefield on November 10. Further closures are scheduled in Leicester, Huyton, Worksop and Harrogate later in the month.

Customers affected by bank closures are being advised to check their local branch information for alternative banking arrangements.
