The Bagel Factory in Newcastle's Eldon Square has permanently closed, four years after it first opened. The breakfast and lunch spot has ceased trading, with shutters now down at the city centre cafe.
Removed from listings and delivery apps
The Newcastle store has been removed from the list of locations on the company's website, as well as from Eldon Square's list of retailers. It is also absent from food delivery apps like UberEats.
When The Bagel Factory launched in the shopping mall in 2022, there was significant excitement about its arrival, serving a number of breakfast and lunch meal deals. However, in recent months, the premises appeared noticeably quieter.
Nearest locations now in York and Edinburgh
The nearest locations to get a Bagel Factory bite going forward are York and Edinburgh. The chain also has branches in Leeds, Huddersfield, Manchester and London.
While The Bagel Factory has gone, Eldon Square's newest arrival, Oseyo, has been welcoming customers since its doors opened in the former Waitrose unit at the end of July. One of the largest Asian supermarkets in the UK, the flagship store sells a whole host of snacks and is also home to a photo booth, a range of K-pop merchandise and a claw machine.
