Armed police were deployed to a street in Fife following a report of two men with a gun. The incident occurred on Victoria Street in Ladybank, where officers, including firearms units, were called to the scene.
Arrests Made and Firearm Recovered
The alarm was raised at around 3.20pm on Thursday, October 8, when police received a report of two men brandishing what appeared to be a firearm. Emergency services, including Police Scotland and armed officers, responded and remained at the scene five hours later.
Two men, aged 32 and 47, and a woman, aged 28, were arrested in connection with the incident. No injuries were reported, and a firearm was recovered. The street was closed to motorists and pedestrians while arrests were made and the situation was contained.
Investigation Underway
Photos from the scene showed uniformed and armed officers, some in tactical gear holding rifles, along with police vehicles with blue lights parked nearby. The street is located under a railway line.
An investigation is ongoing, and police have urged anyone with concerns or information to contact them. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 3.20pm on Thursday, 8 October, 2026, we received a report of two men in possession of what appeared to be a firearm on Victoria Street in Ladybank."
The spokesperson added: "Officers, including firearms officers, are currently in attendance. Two men, aged 32 and 47, and a woman, aged 28, have been arrested in connection. No injuries have been reported and a firearm was recovered."
