Nationwide's £2,500 Daily ATM Deposit Limit Explained

Nationwide Building Society customers face a daily cash deposit limit of £2,500 at its ATMs, while cheques can be deposited up to £50,000 per day with a £2,000 cap per individual cheque. Withdrawals are limited to £500 per day.

The building society operates 605 branches across the UK and has pledged to keep all of them open until at least 2030 under its 'Branch Promise'. This commitment comes amid widespread bank branch closures, with over 6,600 branches closed since January 2015, according to Which?.

Customers needing to deposit or withdraw larger amounts are advised to visit a branch. Nationwide states: 'Visit our branch colleagues for help with cash withdrawals and deposits. You can also order counter drafts for higher amounts if needed.'

For those affected by branch closures, the Post Office offers essential banking services at its 11,684 locations. Nationwide account holders can check balances and withdraw up to £500 over the counter. However, more complex services like account openings are not available at Post Offices.
