Emmerdale actor Shebz Miah has hinted that his character Kammy Hadiq could be joined by family members following the revelation of his heartbreaking secret. In recent episodes, Kammy confessed to girlfriend Belle Dingle that he has been estranged from his family after a tragic chain of events.
The storyline revealed that Kammy had been homeless and sleeping in a barn on Robert Sugden's farm. After being accused of arson, he was forced to admit the truth: the death of his father sent him spiralling, and his sister was injured in a car accident involving a stolen vehicle that Kammy had taken. He took the blame and fled, believing he had failed his mother.
Speaking to The Mirror, Miah expressed hope that more of Kammy's family might appear in the village. 'We need a bit of spice and drama,' he said. 'I think there's a lot of unanswered questions, and I feel like all of that does stem from his upbringing and potential trauma.'
The actor teased that the secret is just the beginning, adding: 'There's a whole box of worms there. I don't know fully yet how accurate it is, but I do know it's teasing into something bigger.'
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
