A London-based accountant and content creator, known as Airic on TikTok, has revealed how he secures luxury hotel stays and fine dining for free through mystery shopping. With over eight years of experience, he posts under the handle @Airic.z, sharing personal finance and lifestyle tips.
Mystery shoppers are hired by companies to pose as regular customers and review services. Airic explained that he has enjoyed hotel stays, fine dining, and even ski trips as part of his work. In a recent video, he outlined three steps for aspiring mystery shoppers.
Firstly, he advises signing up for as many mystery shopping companies as possible, conducting personal research online and on TikTok to build a list of sites. Secondly, he recommends starting with low-value assignments such as telephone inquiries or fast casual restaurants to build a reputation, which then leads to higher-value opportunities like luxury hotels and ski resorts.
Finally, Airic emphasises the importance of carefully reading and following guidelines to ensure payment and reimbursement. He suggests reading instructions five times and taking notes to understand the requirements fully.
