Marks & Spencer's viral chocolate brown suede loafers, which sold out instantly earlier this year, are now back in stock in all sizes for autumn. Priced at £56, the Suede Loafers are available in sizes 3 to 8, with half sizes available, and are expected to sell out quickly again.
Popular for their luxury look
The loafers gained popularity for their resemblance to Saint Laurent's Le Loafer Supple In Suede, which costs £935. They feature ruching detail around the toes and classic saddle detailing across the vamp, and are made from real suede.
Compared to other high street options, the M&S loafers are more affordable, with Cos' Split Suede Mocassin Loafers costing £139 and Vagabond's Linn Loafers priced at £140. Schuh's Lewis Suede Ruched Loafers are currently on sale with 50% off, down from £50 to £24.99.
Shopper reviews and styling
The loafers have a soft, supple feel, regular fit, and flat heel, making them comfortable for work or casual wear. M&S shoppers have left over 160 five-star reviews, with one saying: "I think these are a fab buy, stylish but comfortable. On trend." Another advised: "True to size and doesn't slip on the back of heel. Perfect for work."
Some shoppers were less impressed, with one noting: "Useful good-looking loafers though leather a bit thinner and more flimsy than I had hoped. Not sure how well they will wear, time will tell." Another said: "The suede is quite hard particularly in the heel area. Hopefully they'll soften up with wear but it's a bit disappointing."
Others disagreed, writing: "So so comfortable and they look expensive. I use them for work and even went dancing with them!" The loafers are versatile, suitable for work with wide leg trousers and a shirt, or with jeans, a T-shirt, and socks for a casual look.
