Marks and Spencer shoppers have found a £30 solution for anyone who avoids shorts or dresses in summer because they lack confidence in showing their legs. The PRAI Ageless Leg Perfecting Serum has been praised for banishing ‘dry, crepey’ skin, blurring imperfections and leaving legs ‘glowy’.
A confidence problem
PRAI, best known for its bestselling Ageless Throat and Decolletage Crème and nicknamed ‘NeckXperts’ by fans, has turned its attention to legs. The brand’s research found that 70% of women do not feel confident enough to bare their legs, while 63% actively avoid wearing shorts altogether. Concerns include dry skin, visible veins, uneven tone and loss of firmness.
How the serum works
The tinted serum combines instant cosmetic benefits with skincare ingredients that work over time. Unlike traditional body makeup or fake tan, it is powered by peptides, including Syn-Coll peptides to help boost collagen and Sepilift to improve elasticity. It also contains hyaluronic acid, PRAI oil and grape seed oil to hydrate, soften and provide antioxidant protection.
Applying a similar theory to glow-giving face primers, it uses light-reflecting mica and iron oxides for an immediate, natural-looking glow that helps blur imperfections. The colour is temporary, suitable for all skin tones and washes away in the shower, making it useful for weddings, holidays and days out.
Trial results and price
In PRAI’s consumer trial of 26 women, 73% noticed more even-toned legs immediately after application, while 81% said they felt confident enough to bare their legs after using it, compared with just 12.5% beforehand.
At £30 for 150ml, the serum is cheaper than the This Works Perfect Legs Skin Miracle, which is usually £45 but currently £36 for the same size tube. At Boots, the Vita Liberata Body Blur Light costs £33 for 100ml.
Early reviews
Early reviews on the M&S website have been positive. One shopper said: “I am so impressed by this leg serum. It makes my legs look really glowing and hydrated, I’ve lost the dry, crepey looking skin on my shins and there’s no need to fake tan. It is so easy to use.”
A 75-year-old shopper wrote: “Super for creating a healthy look on the skin. I am 75 and have many blemishes and find this just gives a subtle coverage and is in no way orange.”
Another added: “This is such a helpful product for when you want to wear a summer dress or pair of shorts but don’t feel summer-ready. It instantly gave my legs a glowy tint of colour, while leaving my skin soft and smooth. I’ve used it on my arms and cheekbones too, as a pretty highlighter. I’ve used it daily in the UK and also packed it on my holidays to NYC and Italy – from the city to the coast, it’s an absolute summer essential.”
Not all feedback has been five-star. One four-star review praised the natural colour and streak-free finish but found the texture “a bit heavy compared to smooth body moisturisers”. Another five-star review read: “Hate my legs so thought I’d give it a try, very impressed. Good coverage, nice colour and goes on well. Prefer it to gradual tan as don’t get awful brown knees. Feel like I could wear shorts now.”
One long-time user of PRAI’s neck cream said: “I have used other Prai products particularly the neck cream for many years which I rate as excellent so I was very interested to try this. I’ve found it really good for improving the look of the skin in my legs, lifting the colour just enough and blurring imperfections.”
