Morrisons is offering a large steak deal this weekend to celebrate Father's Day, but there is a catch. The supermarket has dropped a heavyweight showstopper: a giant Tomahawk steak with an average weight of over 1kg for just £15. The price drops to £12 if purchased on Saturday, June 20, as part of Morrisons' popular 20% Steak Saturday promotion.
The mega-meat joint has landed in stores nationwide, but with supplies strictly limited, families will need to sprint to the butcher's counter before the premium beef joint sells out completely if they want to grab one. Morrisons has teamed up with its very own father-and-son butcher duo, David Mann, 63, and Matthew Mann, 37. Based at the Morrisons Cheadle Heath store, David has been wielding his cleaver since the age of 17, racking up 25 years of loyal service to the supermarket. Following in his dad's footsteps, Matthew joined him on the counter in 2005 through Morrisons' butchery apprentice scheme.

How to Cook It
For those feeling intimidated on how to cook the beast, Morrisons butchers like David and Matthew will be on hand to help. Up and down the country, more than 1,200 expert Market Street butchers will be standing ready to hand out cooking tips to ensure cooks can serve a steak that is perfectly pink on the inside.
The Cheadle Heath duo have shared their top two cooking methods for the perfect Tomahawk steak:
- Slow roast in the oven at 110C for 45–60 minutes, depending on how well-done you prefer your steak.
- Start in a frying pan or skillet on a medium heat for 5 minutes on each side, then turn the temperature to full heat to form a beautiful, crisp crust on the edges.
Matthew Mann, Morrisons Butcher, added: "A proper cut of meat like the Tomahawk can look intimidating to cook if you're nervous about getting it right, but it's actually incredibly rewarding. We're on hand at the counter to give everyone the confidence they need to serve up the perfect cut."
The Tomahawk steak deal is available at Morrisons Market Street counters nationwide from Thursday to Saturday only, while stocks last. For steak fans looking for a slightly smaller portion, Morrisons is also cutting the price of its premium British 8oz Sirloin Steak to better than half price, just £3.40 (from £7.26) for Friday, June 19. For customers shopping at the counter on Saturday, the price drops further to £2.72 with the Steak Saturday 20% offer.
