McDonald's UK is reportedly bringing back two fan favourites in January: the Chicken Legend and Breakfast Bagels, according to social media account UK Newest Foods.
The announcement comes as customers currently enjoy the annual World Heist Menu, which features Spain's McExtreme burger and Chicken McWings from China for a limited time. The return of the two items would mark the next change to the menu in the New Year.
Fans React to the News
In an Instagram post, UK Newest Foods stated: "Chicken Legend and Breakfast Bagels are returning to McDonald's UK in January. You heard it here first, as always."
The Chicken Legend has been absent from branches since 2022, when it was replaced by the McCrispy. Breakfast Bagels were last available in the UK in 2020.
Reactions to the post were enthusiastic. One fan declared: "At last Chicken Legend is coming back." Another said: "They should never have taken away the breakfast bagel." A third commented: "What the people have been BEGGING for." A fourth wrote: "Omg the breakfast bagel! My life has been made. My happiness restored." A fifth added: "I require proof before getting excited."
Details on the Returning Items
The Chicken Legend consists of a fried chicken breast with lettuce and mayonnaise, served in a ciabatta roll. During its previous run, customers could choose between barbecue or spicy tomato sauce.
The McDonald's Sausage, Egg, and Cheese Bagel featured a pork sausage patty, a folded egg, and two slices of American cheese in a toasted bagel.
Previous Comeback
This follows the return of Mini Hash Browns in August. The side dish, served in a sharing box of 15, was originally launched in 2024 as a shareable take on the traditional hash brown. It disappeared shortly after, prompting customers to call for its return.
