TRESemmé is stepping into a new era with the launch of TRESemmé Professional, and former Love Islander Maura Higgins has been unveiled as the new face of the brand. The company is embarking on its most elevated brand evolution to date, bringing salon-grade performance, advanced technology, and professional artistry to the forefront.
To mark this next chapter and following a year of creating head-turning hair moments together, the brand and Maura, 35, are making it official, appointing her as the first-ever Head of Hair. In this newly created role, Maura will serve as a muse and creative force, shaping iconic red-carpet looks and fronting major campaigns across the UK and Ireland.
Maura said: 'I'm all about women feeling powerful in their own skin - and their hair. I spent ten years working in a hair salon at the start of my career, so I've seen first-hand the transformative power hair has. I can't wait to create looks that show what's possible with truly high-performance products. Because when your hair feels incredible, so do you - and every woman deserves that feeling.'
Maura's appointment coincides with the announcement of her long-time collaborator, acclaimed celebrity hairstylist Luke Pluckrose, as Head Stylist at TRESemmé. In this role, Luke will bring the trusted stylist–client dynamic to life across the brand, translating professional artistry into elevated yet achievable at-home looks.
Debuting on May 27, Maura's first campaign will run across TV, social, and out-of-home platforms, with all hair created by Luke using the soon-to-launch next-generation collections. As the brand enters a new professional era, Maura isn't just fronting the campaign—she's helping set the tone of TRESemmé Professional, one extraordinary hair moment at a time.
Maura's Rising Stardom
It has been an incredible first half of the year for Maura, who has sent her US takeover soaring to even greater heights with the announcement that she has joined the lineup for Dancing With The Stars. Sources have claimed the Love Island star could be in line for a £5 million payday thanks to new deals with bosses. It was confirmed last month that Maura will appear on the 35th season of the hit show, the US version of Strictly Come Dancing, and she was the first star unveiled for this autumn's lineup.
The star had previously shared her interest in appearing on Dancing With The Stars during her well-publicised stint on the US version of The Traitors. Meanwhile, multiple beauty brands are also said to be keen to snap up the star, whilst insiders claim a fly-on-the-wall series documenting her rise in America could be the obvious next step, with the star reportedly already in talks with TV bosses.
However, it is not just reality TV and beauty brands on her radar. The star is also said to be in talks with Disney after making her acting debut in the film The Spin.
After mostly focusing on influencer and fashion work for the first few years after Love Island, in 2023, Maura jumped the Atlantic and became a social media presenter and guest hosted a challenge for Season 5 of Love Island USA. In October of the same year, she was made a social media presenter for Love Island Games. And in 2024, she became the host of Love Island: Aftersun. She also took part in Dancing On Ice in 2020.
This properly kickstarted her TV career after raking in the cash with clothing and makeup deals after leaving the villa. The star also signed with public relations agency Align, which specialises in growing careers in the US, last year. Maura also recently revealed that she has signed with a major US talent agency, Creative Artist Agency, whose glittering list of clients includes big names like Lady Gaga. Her work in the US culminated with her bagging an invite to the prestigious Golden Globes in LA, where she mixed with the likes of Jennifer Lawrence, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Emma Stone.
