Lola's, the cake brand, has introduced a quintessentially British treat to celebrate its 20th anniversary: the limited-edition Cream Tea Scone Cake and an anniversary cupcake box. The company describes the launch as its “love letter to two decades of being there.”
The Cream Tea Scone Cake
The special cake features layers of light vanilla sponge filled with strawberry delifruit and clotted cream mascarpone, made using Rodda's Cornish clotted cream. It is available in three sizes – small (5.5"), medium (7") and large (9") – and can be personalised with a message on the board, with prices starting from £36.
Anniversary Cupcake Box
Alongside the cake, Lola's has created a limited-edition cupcake box featuring three flavours: Cream Tea, Lemon Tart and Vanilla Jammy Dodger, priced at £30 for a pack of six. The Cream Tea cupcake contains vanilla sponge, strawberry delifruit and clotted cream mascarpone, made with Rodda's Cornish clotted cream, topped with a mini scone and a fresh strawberry. The Lemon Tart has lemon sponge, lemon curd and lemon mascarpone, finished with a mini lemon curd tart. The Vanilla Jammy Dodger features vanilla sponge, raspberry delifruit and pink buttercream, topped with a mini Jammy Dodger and fresh raspberries.
Availability and Quote
Both the cake and the cupcake box are available in stores and online until September. Asher Budwig, managing director of Lola's, said: “For our 20th anniversary, we wanted to create something joyful, nostalgic and unmistakably British, while still feeling very Lola's. The Cream Tea Scone Cake is our way of celebrating the people and occasions that shaped the brand over the last two decades.”
