Copplestones Bridal, a long-established Liverpool city centre bridal boutique, will close at the end of July after nearly 20 years in business. Before shutting its doors, the store is offering major discounts to clear its remaining stock, with wedding dresses now available from just £99.
Closing-Down Sale Offers Major Discounts
Brides have been flocking to the boutique’s closing-down sale to take advantage of heavily reduced prices. Around 90 wedding dresses are still available, with discounts of up to 80% off gowns, veils and accessories. The boutique hopes to sell as much remaining stock as possible before its final trading day.
Rising Costs and Changing Habits Drive Closure
Manager Tracy Tollitt said rising costs and changing shopping habits have made it increasingly difficult for independent bridal shops to survive. She noted that more customers are buying online, creating strong competition from low-cost retailers. Despite the closure, the team is committed to supporting existing brides until the very end, continuing to help with fittings, alterations and any questions customers may have.
Personalised Service and Community Impact
The boutique has built a strong reputation for personalised service and helping brides find their dream dresses. Tracy said the hardest part of closing is saying goodbye to the brides and families the team has worked with over the years. Alterations specialist Angela Noonan, who has worked with the boutique for 18 years, described the closure as very sad. She plans to continue offering alterations from home, although she says it will not be the same without the store.
Final Weeks and Customer Thanks
As the final weeks approach, the team has thanked customers for nearly two decades of support. They say it has been a privilege to help thousands of brides create special memories while finding affordable and beautiful wedding dresses.
