Lidl is releasing a new "atmospheric" LED table lamp with touch function for £7.99 on Thursday, August 20, which bears a close resemblance to a John Lewis design. The budget supermarket's version could save shoppers around £47 compared to the premium retailer's offering.

Both lamps feature a silver base, frosted glass, and a cylindrical shape. John Lewis sells its Cara Glass Touch Lamps as a pair for £55, equating to £27.50 each. Opting for Lidl's version instead would save approximately £19.50 per lamp, or £47 when compared to buying the pair.
Lidl's lamp includes a touch-sensitive base for switching on and off, three brightness levels, and a metal base with a matt-nickel finish. The product description notes a frosted glass shade for "atmospheric, warm light," an integrated step dim function, a 1.6m power cable, and dimensions of W10 x H25.5cm. It comes with a three-year warranty.
