Lidl is set to launch a new dehumidifier in its stores this week, offering a budget-friendly solution for drying clothes while reducing household energy costs. The Tronic dehumidifier will be available from Thursday 16 October at a price of £74.99, significantly cheaper than many models that can cost hundreds of pounds.
The device features two programs: one specifically for drying laundry and another for general dehumidifying. Users can pre-set desired humidity levels between 30% and 80%. It can extract up to 10 litres of moisture in 24 hours and stores water in a 2.1-litre tank with a viewing window, full-tank alert, and overflow protection.
MoneySavingExpert Martin Lewis has previously recommended using dehumidifiers over tumble dryers, which can cost up to £1 per hour to run, whereas dehumidifiers operate for just pennies an hour. The Tronic model includes a washable filter, wheels, and a handle for easy movement around the home.
Lidl's dehumidifier will only be available in-store, so customers need to visit their local branch to purchase it. For those unable to get to Lidl, alternatives include the Duux bora smart 30l dehumidifier, the Daewoo 700ml model, and the EcoAir DDWH10 desiccant dehumidifier, all of which have been tested and reviewed.
