Lidl is launching the TRONIC Ceramic Fan Heater in all its stores nationwide on Thursday, October 22, while stocks last. The appliance offers an alternative to switching on central heating, with running costs from 26.32p per hour at its lowest setting.
The supermarket, which operates over 1,000 stores across the UK, is introducing the product after the Ofgem price cap rise at the beginning of October. A typical household paying by Direct Debit has seen its annual energy bill increase by £60, from £1,663 to £1,723, prompting families to seek cheaper ways to stay warm as colder months approach.
Product Features and Running Costs
The TRONIC Ceramic Fan Heater includes two heat settings at 700W and 1200W, an adjustable thermostat, and a fan mode. It has control dials, a practical handle at the top, and protection against tipping and overheating. The device operates on a rated voltage of 220–240V, comes with a 180cm cable, and carries a 3-year warranty.
Running at 700W, its lowest setting, the heater costs roughly 26.32p per hour to run continuously in the UK under the current price cap. However, for safety reasons, it should not be left on indefinitely, despite the built-in safety features.
Shoe Dryer Also Available
Lidl is also selling the new Silvercrest Electric Shoe Dryer to help prevent smelly shoes this autumn and winter. Instead of masking odours with perfumes or sprays, it eliminates the moisture that bacteria need to survive.
The product description says: "Stops odours developing by drying out moisture. Even heat distribution through 1500 air holes." It features an extendable design that slides into any pair of shoes or boots, fitting sizes from a UK 2 upward. Once plugged in, the dryer uses a steady, controlled heat of 56°C.
