Lidl's 1p-per-hour Silentnight Electric Blanket Hits Shelves Tomorrow
Lidl's 1p-per-hour Electric Blanket on Sale Tomorrow

Lidl will start selling the Silentnight Winter Warmer Electric Blanket tomorrow, Thursday, October 22, with the brand claiming it costs from just 1p per hour to run, offering a cheaper alternative to central heating.

Price and Availability

The electric blanket is available as a double for £19.99 and a king for £29.99. It will be stocked in the supermarket's 'middle aisle', alongside other winter essentials. Shoppers are advised to act quickly, as once the stock is gone, it will not be replenished.

The blanket features three adjustable heat settings, an auto shut-off function, and elastic straps to secure it to the bed. It is made from a "wonderfully soft" microfleece material, with "innovative" pinsonic channels to keep wires in place for even heat distribution.

Energy Efficiency Claims

The energy efficiency website Sust.it.net has confirmed that the 1p-per-hour running cost calculation is correct, even considering the recent Ofgem price cap increase, which rose by an average of four percent on October 1, 2026.

The controller can be detached for washing, and the blanket comes with a three-year warranty covering accidental damages or faults.

Winter Essentials Range

Alongside the blanket, Lidl will launch its full 'Winter Essentials' line, including the return of the Tronic Bladeless Fan Heater, priced at £69.99, described as a 'dupe' for Dyson's £400 gadget. It features four oscillating settings, 20 speed settings, frost and overheat protection, and five LED mood lights. A miniature version is also available for £49.99, with a compact design suitable for desks or windowsills.
