Lidl is releasing its Silvercrest Handheld Steam Cleaner in all stores from Sunday, October 25, priced at £17.99 while stocks last. The supermarket says the device produces a powerful jet of steam for a deep clean, tackling dirt in hard-to-reach areas without chemicals.
Chemical-free cleaning for multiple surfaces
Lidl describes the gadget as easy to use and claims it can clean, disinfect and degrease a variety of surfaces using only hot steam. It is suitable for refreshing upholstery and textiles, as well as keeping taps, basins, mirrors and tiles looking shiny. The cleaner uses no chemicals or cleaning agents.
Each kit includes a seven-piece accessory set with an extension nozzle, angled nozzle, upholstery nozzle, fabric cover, round brush, extension hose and measuring cup. The store notes the device is small, handy and easy to store.
Comparison with other retailers
Other steam cleaners are available online, including the Tower Handheld Steam Cleaner on Amazon for £30 and the Beldray 15-in-1 Steam Cleaner at Dunelm for £55. Choosing the Lidl offer could save shoppers up to £37 compared with leading brands. However, the deal ends once stores sell out, as the supermarket rarely restocks items.
Other new cleaning gadgets this weekend
Lidl is also launching the Silvercrest Ultrasonic Cleaner as part of its latest middle aisle update. According to the supermarket, it works effectively on jewellery, make-up brushes, coins, glasses, retainers, dentures and more. The machine has a practical timer with an LED display, offering cleaning cycles of 90, 180, 300, 480 and 600 seconds.
Its 500ml capacity tank comes with a plastic basket and integrated watch holder. Lidl adds that the device consumes just 50W of electricity, so a 600-second cleaning cycle costs approximately 0.22p. The Middle of Lidl updates its stock every Thursday and Sunday with different themes.
