Lidl's new Silvercrest Ultrasonic Cleaner will go on sale in all UK stores on Sunday, October 25, priced at £12.99 with a three-year warranty. The device uses 48,000 cycles of ultrasonic waves per second to remove stubborn dirt and grime from delicate items without harsh brushing or scrubbing.
Features and Specifications
The gadget features a practical timer with an LED display, offering cleaning bursts of 90, 180, 300, 480, and 600 seconds. Its 500ml tank includes a plastic basket and integrated watch holder. The supermarket claims it works well for jewellery, make-up brushes, coins, glasses, retainers, dentures, and more.
Lidl adds that the cleaning tool uses just 50W of electricity. Even for its longest clean cycle, a 600-second blast uses around 0.22 p of electricity.
Comparison with Other Retailers
Shoppers could find similar devices elsewhere, but they may cost more. For example, the Pro-Kleen Ultrasonic Jewellery Cleaner is available from B&Q for £29.99. B&Q's product description states it is "extremely effective in removing dirt and grime which would normally require tedious manual cleaning," and it is used to clean a wide variety of items including jewellery, watch straps, dentures, glasses, razors, and coins, returning them to almost "like new" condition without damage to delicate parts.
Other New Arrivals at Lidl
Lidl stores update the middle aisle twice a week, on Thursday and Sunday. From October 22, the supermarket is rolling out a new range of SilverCrest copper-coated kitchenware and small appliances, including kettles, toasters, stand mixers, and coffee makers. The focus is also on heavy layering and weatherproofing, with men's and women's thermal tops, thick leggings, softshell jackets (£9.99), padded gilets, fleece hoodies, and joggers. Homeware includes plush velvet cushions, textured rugs, LED ambient lighting, scented candles, and reed diffusers. This update also sees the launch of more Max and Mila pet health and accessories.
