Lidl Launches £69.99 Ice Cream Maker to Rival Ninja Creami

Lidl is set to launch its Silvercrest Premium Ice Cream Maker in stores across the UK on Thursday, July 16, offering a budget-friendly alternative to the popular Ninja Creami. Priced at £69.99, the device undercuts the Ninja Creami, which typically retails for around £250, by more than £180.

Features and Capabilities

The 800W ice cream maker comes with seven pre-set programmes, allowing users to create ice cream, gelato, sorbets, smoothie bowls, and milkshakes. The process involves filling the tank with ingredients, freezing for 24 hours, and then running the machine for a few minutes to produce creamy treats. A re-spin function is included to achieve a smooth consistency, and a recipe booklet provides inspiration for various frozen desserts.

The gadget also includes three cups for making different flavours simultaneously. Each purchase comes with a three-year warranty covering damages or faults. Lidl suggests adding toppings like chocolate chips, sprinkles, fruit, or coconut shavings to customise creations.

Competition from Aldi

Fellow discounter Aldi will also launch its own ice cream machine, the Ambiano Ice Cream Machine, on the same day, also priced at £69.99. The Aldi version offers additional features, including 10 pre-set programmes, a self-cleaning function, an adjustable blade, and a 'smoothify' technology that shaves frozen ingredients with a vertically rotating blade for a creamy texture.

Other Lidl Kitchen Launches

Alongside the ice cream maker, Lidl's 'Middle of Lidl' range will feature the Silvercrest Slow Juicer, priced at £49.99. This juicer operates at a lower speed to gently extract juice while preserving nutrients. It can process hard vegetables like carrots and cabbage, and includes a self-feeding feature, large feed chute, pulp collector, reverse function, and a cover.

Lidl warns that stock may vary by store and items can sell out quickly, advising customers to arrive early to avoid disappointment. The Silvercrest Premium Ice Cream Maker will be available in Lidl stores nationwide from July 16.
