Harry Ramsden's fish and chips at 32 Morrisons cafes

Harry Ramsden's fish and chips have been introduced at 32 Morrisons cafes across the UK since August 10. The 'world-famous' fish, chips and mushy peas are now available at locations including Leeds, Reading, Leicester and Exeter.

Partnership expansion

The launch operates through Harry Ramsden's 'Proudly Serving' partnership framework, which has previously allowed the brand to expand into major high street names such as frozen food retailer Iceland. This marks the first time the fish and chips will feature in Morrisons cafes, though the two companies have collaborated before.

Since September 2025, a variety of Harry Ramsden's products have been available in Morrisons' chilled aisle and on its website, including battered cod fillets, chunky fish fingers and steak pies, alongside traditional British sides like mushy peas, curry sauce and gravy.

Brand ambitions

The cafe expansion is part of Harry Ramsden's wider ambition to grow beyond its conventional restaurant presence. Chief Executive James Fleming described the deal as a significant opportunity to bring the brand to millions of new shoppers through a well-established national supermarket network, allowing the business to broaden the reach of its fish and chips while maintaining quality and tradition.

Will Reed, Morrisons senior cafe trading manager, said: "Harry Ramsden's is an iconic British brand, and we're excited to introduce its famous fish and chips to customers in our cafes this summer." He added that the supermarket hoped to offer customers the "comforting taste of a classic chippy tea", with generous portions and outstanding value.

History and reach

Harry Ramsden's has built its reputation as "the home of world-famous fish and chips" since serving its first customers in 1928 from a wooden hut in Guiseley, West Yorkshire. On its 21st birthday, the company hosted "the big fry", serving more than 1,000 portions of fish and chips in a single day, setting a world record at the time.

Today, there are eight standalone Harry Ramsden's restaurants, all situated south of the border, while its products are available in over 2,000 shops across nine countries.
