Greggs has confirmed that its Festive Bake achieved its all-time single-day sales record on the very first day it was available this year. The item launched nationwide on Thursday, returning on the earliest date in its 17-year history, and fans bought more Festive Bakes in a single day than on any other day since it first launched, the company said.
Launch brought forward by two weeks
Greggs brought the launch forward by two weeks, believing "Brits were ready to get their Christmas food fix earlier than ever." Judging by the record-breaking opening, the decision appears justified. Greggs said it now believes the strong start puts it on course to sell more Festive Bakes than ever before.
Zoe Harris, customer director at Greggs, said: "We know the Festive Bake has a huge following, but this launch has been something else. We brought it back two weeks earlier than ever before because we know people are ready to start feeling festive sooner and in just 24 hours, they proved us right."
Record-breaking start and festive line-up
Harris added: "To see the biggest day of Festive Bake sales ever is incredible. This record-breaking start means it could be our biggest Festive Bake season yet. Christmas has definitely come early for Greggs fans."
Fine-tuned for 2026, the Festive Bake combines chicken, smoked ham hock, sweetcure bacon, creamy soft cheese and spiced pork stuffing in a rich sage and cranberry sauce. It is wrapped in golden-glazed puff pastry and finished with a crisp crumb topping, which Greggs said "flakes all down your top."
The festive line-up also features the Pigs Under Blankets Toastie, Pepperoni Pizza with Hot Honey, Festive Feast Baguette, Festive Flatbread and Sweet Mince Pie Roll, plus three new sweet treats and a range of seasonal drinks.
Availability and ordering options
All items on the new festive menu are now available in shops nationwide, Greggs confirmed. Customers can secure their seasonal fix on the go via Click + Collect using the Greggs App, or have the entire feast delivered to their door through Just Eat and Uber Eats.
