Five Guys has introduced a new 'Big Kids Combo' meal, starting at £15.50, as a limited-time offer for the summer holidays. The meal resembles McDonald's Happy Meal but notably excludes any toys, with the slogan 'No. Toy. Needed.'
What's in the Big Kids Combo?
The combo allows customers to swap the usual single-patty burger for a regular two-patty version. It includes a choice of burger with up to 15 free toppings, Mini Fries (Salted or Cajun), and a Big Kids Soda or Little Shake. A Big Kids Shake upgrade is available for an additional cost.
No Toys, All Food
Unlike McDonald's Happy Meals, which currently feature World Cup-themed toys, Five Guys focuses solely on food. The chain's official stance is that no toys are included, aiming to appeal to parents tired of accumulating plastic toys. Despite this, some customers on Instagram expressed enthusiasm, with @mrskeltonelli commenting, 'Good! I've been thinking about a five guys for a very long time.'
Comparison to Kids' Menu
Five Guys still offers a regular build-your-own kids' meal from £7, which includes a Little Hamburger, Hot Dog, or Grilled Cheese Sandwich, Mini Fries, and a Little Shake or Mini Soda. The Big Kids Combo is a larger, more premium option.
Part of Summer Savings Initiative
The offer is part of the Great British Summer Savings project, an industry-wide initiative to help parents during summer. The Labour government announced plans in May to ease financial burdens on families, including savings on theme parks, cinema, theatre, supermarkets, free bus travel for under 15s, and a freeze on fuel duty. The Five Guys offer runs until September 1 and is available for dine-in customers at select UK stores.
