Fairfield Social Club, located in Manchester's Red Bank district, is one of the city's best hidden gems for enjoying the summer sun. This bar and events space features a huge beer garden, an al fresco kitchen serving Mediterranean food, and craft beer brewed less than 100 yards away by Black Jack Brewing.
Location and Concept
The venue is situated on Irk Street, just below Angel Meadow park, behind Victoria Station and bordering the Green Quarter and Cheetham Hill. It was created by the team behind GRUB, a street food venue and events space. The Red Bank area is being transformed by developer Far East Consortium as part of the Victoria North regeneration project, and already hosts independent venues like Half Dozen Other bakery and The Sparrows restaurant.
Food and Drink
The FSC Garden Kitchen serves seasonal Mediterranean dishes prepared with authentic imported ingredients and locally sourced produce. Menu items include various gyros, oregano fries, ice cream, and ice lollies, all served from a hatch in the outdoor dining space. The bar offers craft beer from neighbouring Black Jack Brewing, making it a prime spot for al fresco dining and drinking.
Events and Activities
Fairfield Social Club regularly hosts comedy nights, film screenings, games nights, and private events. Recently, it screened England World Cup matches. Upcoming events include Edinburgh Fringe Preview comedy nights and the weekly Kiki Family Meetup on Thursdays. The venue previously operated under the arches of Temperance Street, featuring cultural events and live performances, before moving to its current location a couple of years ago.
