Costco has issued a recall for its Kirkland Signature Prosecco Valdobbiadene after discovering that unopened bottles could shatter, posing a risk of injury to customers. The retailer has urged customers not to return the product, instead advising careful disposal.
The affected bottles, item number 1879870, were sold between April 25 and August 26 in 12 US states: Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, Nebraska, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin. Costco warned customers not to open the bottles and to dispose of them by wrapping in paper towels and placing in plastic bags before putting in the bin.

The recall comes shortly after Costco also recalled its Dubai-Style Chocolate made by Rolling Pin due to a labelling error. The chocolates, sold between May 1 and August 29, listed gluten in the allergen statement but failed to specify wheat as an ingredient. No illnesses have been reported, and customers are asked to return the product for a full refund.
