Clarks cuts £89 trainers to £30 in three colours

Clarks has cut the price of its Un Rio Sprint trainers by more than 60%, dropping the white pair from £89 to £30 for a limited time. The reduction offers shoppers a saving of £50 on the 'comfortable and trendy' high-street trainers.

Three colourways reduced

The Un Rio Sprint trainers are available in sizes three to 9.5 in D (standard) and E (wide) widths, with half sizes available. Alongside the white pair, the trainers also come in a navy colour, also on sale for £30 down from £89, while the platinum pair have been reduced to £25 from £85.

A sleek silhouette and athletic aesthetic define the contemporary trainer. Soft white leather with neutral accents creates a casual track-inspired design, and the flexible sole has plenty of traction, without bulk or weight, to keep you light on your feet.

Design and features

The trainers are finished with a breathable lining to keep feet fresh and cool, while the grippy sole makes walking on icy conditions a breeze. Thanks to their versatile design, the trainers can be paired with anything from jeans and trousers to dresses and skirts.

Elsewhere, the 'new in' Leather Lace Up Trainers cost £50 at Marks and Spencer. With a slim, streamlined shape, the trainers are made from soft leather and fasten with laces. Available in brown or cream, the round toe and flat sole keep the design practical for daily wear. The standard fit gives a comfortable, true to size feel.

Shopper reviews

Back at Clarks, the Un Rio Sprint trainers have racked up an overall star-rating of 4.3 out of five based on more than 80 reviews. One satisfied shopper said: "They are great and stylish and offer good value for money. I would definitely recommend them to others."

A second wrote: "Proven quality for particularly comfortable wear and walkability thanks to the flexible sole. You walk as if in a good sneaker, but you're dressed elegantly. The inner and outer material is very pleasant leather, which doesn't stain or smell even after prolonged wear."

Another five-star review reads: "I bought the wide fitting. Very comfortable right from the first moment of putting them on. I wore them on a sightseeing holiday and walked comfortably for miles in hot weather. They are versatile and can be worn with both jeans and skirts."

One shopper, however, wasn't as impressed, giving a three-star review and noting the trainers were "a little stiff" but hoping they would soften because they are nubuck. Another three-star review mentioned ordering a wide fit but not finding them very wide, describing them as "really tight."
