Bridesworld Liverpool Closes After 44 Years in Business

Bridesworld Liverpool, an independent bridal shop on County Road in Walton, will close its doors for the final time on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, ending 44 years of trading and three generations of family ownership.

A Landmark on County Road Since 1983

Since opening in 1983, the store has become a well-known fixture in North Liverpool, specialising in wedding dresses, bridesmaid gowns, communion wear and occasion outfits. The family described the decision to close as 'incredibly difficult' after more than four decades of serving local families.

In a farewell statement, the owners expressed deep gratitude to customers for their loyalty and support, noting they had been privileged to help generations of brides and had made many lifelong friends along the way. They said they would leave with 'countless treasured memories' and thanked everyone who allowed Bridesworld Liverpool to be part of their special moments.

Impact on the Community

The closure marks the end of an era for Walton's retail scene. The owners emphasised their appreciation for every visit, purchase, recommendation and kind word received over the years. The shop has severed generations of customers, but will shut for the last time today.

Bridesworld's closure follows news that another long-established bridal retailer, Copplestones Bridal on Sir Thomas Street, will close on Friday, July 31, after almost 20 years in Liverpool city centre.
